AT&T Asks Customers If They Want The Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Well this certainly came out of left field. While all eyes were on Verizon Wireless to finally announce an official US release date for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, AT&T has taken to Google+ to see if its subscribers want the device.

Now we're not even going to touch on the matter of just how out of touch carriers are to ask such a question however it does bring up an interesting question: does AT&T really plan on bringing the Samsung Galaxy Nexus or is this just a ploy to prevent its users from defecting to Verizon Wireless just yet.

With the official Samsung website listing Verizon Wireless as the only US carrier to get the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, for now, we can see how this may pose as a threat to AT&T in the short term. Just like the iPhone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is shaping up to be one of the most popular smartphones of 2011, and right up until now we've seen 148 votes on the AT&T Google+ page for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

With AT&T building their own LTE network, it too may plan on getting an LTE capable Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the future. We'll keep you posted as more develops.
