New seasons of Arrested Development headed to Netflix
Flailing Netflix, the web based TV subscription service, is now going into original content to help the company get past hard times. And one of its first acquisitions will be a new season of Arrested Development. TheVerge has the scoop:
"The latest deal will bring new episodes of the much-loved show Arrested Development exclusively to Netflix customers in the first half of 2013, though only in the US."
Now we know, the first three seasons of Arrested Development are already advailable on Netflix and we are guessing that this is how the company has gauged the popularity of the show and how they could increase subscriptions by offering exclusive content via new episodes.
Fox likes the idea and may in the future pack other original programming via Netflix. We'll keep you posted as more develops.
