Schmidt Teases Google Nexus Tablet Of "Highest Quality" Arriving In 6 MonthsAccording to a statement made by Google chairman Eric Schmidt, the company will be promoting what may be the first official Nexus tablet within the next 6 months.
Schmidt hints Google Nexus tablet in the works, coming within 6 months
Schmidt states in the “brutal competition” against Apple's iPad, "we plan to market a tablet of the highest quality.” Schmidt also told Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera that they will be employing their own voice recognition technology to challenge Siri. This technology is currently only known as Majel to us.
Despite the major rivalry between Google and Apple, Eric Schmidt only has praises for Apple CEO Steve Jobs: “Steve Jobs was the Michelangelo of our time,… [he] realized the revolutionary potential of the tablet and has created an amazing product like the iPad.”
No further details have been revealed about the Google Nexus tablet but given that the last few Nexus devices were built by Samsung, we won't be surprised if the Korean company gets another shot. Also in the running will no doubt be Motorola, HTC and ASUS who have all released popular Android tablets this year.
