The Motorola Xoom had high hopes when it launched and was dubbed the iPad 2 killer when it was unveiled. However many months on, Motorola only managed to sell 440,000 Xoom units versus the 9.2 million iPads floating around. Simultaneously, Motorola admitted to their mistakes and agreed they gauged the market wrong, hence the exorbitant price tag.
Motorola Kore: Motorola Xoom successor to take on iPad 2?
Well rumors of Motorola taking a second swing at the iPad with its Xoom 2 may still be true, however it may not go by that now besmirched name. According to Fusible.com who caught wind of Motorola's recent domain registration exploits, the company has just registered 5 domains revolving around the name "Kore".
On Wednesday August 3, Motorola registered MotorolaKore.com, KoreMotorola.com, Moto-kore.com, MotoKore.com and Motorola-Kore.com.
Now unfortunately there isn't much more intel other than this. However as far are rumors go, we the Motorola Xoom 2 (a.k.a Kore) was expected to go with a 4:3 aspect ratio just like the iPad 2 and feature NVIDIA's Kal-El quad-core processors.
Whether the Motorola Kore stands a chance against the iPad 2 is still unknown however depending on when Motorola plans to launch this product, Apple may already have its 3rd generation tablet ready to party.
More on this as it develops.
