Oh God, We Hope This Isn't The iPhone 5 (Leaked Photos)With iPhone 5 rumors reaching an all time high, not a day goes by where a blog or news site announces that they have intel about the upcoming iPhone 5.
Is this the iPhone 5?
Of course, many are just too ridiculous to entertain but some unfortunately have that understated quality that grabs your attention. In comes MobileFun who state that they have sourced images from a 3rd party iPhone 5 case manufacturer that reveals what the iPhone 5 will look like. Now given that it was cases that revealed what the iPad 2 was going to look like, we couldn't help but report on this story.
According to MF (MobileFun that is, not anything else), "if these images are authentic – and we have every reason to believe that they are – then the iPhone 5 is a radical evolution of the iPhone concept, and a bigger departure from the iPhone 4 than previous case images have shown."
As you can see from the image, the iPhone 5 seems to have incorporated that edge-to-edge display whereby the thickness of the bezel around the borders have been reduced to allow for a larger, 4-inch display. Furthermore the home button has been replaced by what appears to be a trackpad given the extra surface area and shape.
According to MF, the larger screen will allow for on-screen indicators that will further alleviate the need for too many physical buttons.
Now while these AUTOCAD images look like what a third party case manufacturer would be given to make cases for an unreleased device, we must say that "radical evolution" seems to be backwards. If anything, the curved back and overall design reminds us of the iPhone 3GS.
