Microsoft stated that there would be no CDMA Windows Phone 7 handsets until sometime after the first half of 2011 so it comes as surprising news that a CDMA Windows Phone from HTC has just earned FCC approval.
In case you're wondering what the FCC approval means, it tells us that the smartphone is not a prototype and in fact a production model.
Sprint HTC 7 Pro?
Since there aren't may CDMA Windows Phone 7 handsets revealed to be in the works at the moment, our best guess would be that it's the Sprint HTC 7 Pro which debuted at the WP7 launch event earlier this month. It was a non-working prototype at the time but we did find out that it had a QWERTY keyboard with clicky keys and a dedicated number row. Other details included 802.11b / g / n with Bluetooth + EDR.
Sprint, please proceed.
