We've received multiple confirmations from readers that the Samsung Galaxy Tab is heading to Verizon Wireless and what you see above is the first screenshots of an internal email confirming that the latest iPad competitor is making its way to Big Red.
With the internal confirmation comes a rundown of the specs:
- Android 2.2
- Adobe Flash 10.1 support
- 7-inch touch screen
- 3-megapixel camera
- Wi-Fi
- GPS
- CDMA EVDO Rev. A
The Samsung Galaxy Tab event will be held tomorrow (Thursday), where hopefully everything will be clarified. On the top of the list is the rumor that buyers will be required to subscribe to one of Verizon's data plans even though the device does support Wi-Fi. Unlike the iPad that was available in both WiFi and 3G+WiFi versions, the Galaxy Tab will only be available in a single model.
However if a Verizon data plan is neccessary in order to purchase the Galaxy Tab at these subsidized rates, then there is always the option to wait for the tablet to be made available on other carriers. Let's hope Sprint and AT&T don't enforce the same contract stipulations.
