It is finally official folks. After months of teasing, the Sony PlayStation Vita has received a confirmed release date and price points. The folks over at Engadget have the scoop:
"Sony has announced that the PlayStation Vita will be hitting shelves February 22nd at retailers in the US, Canada, Latin America and Europe."
Sony PlayStation Vita US release date and price now official
Now in case you're late to the party, let us talk a little more about the PlayStation Vita. It packs 512MB RAM and the 3G model comes equipped with Facebook, Foursquare, Skype and Twitter integration for cross gaming. Hardware wise, we find a 5-inch OLED display, dual analog sticks, dual cameras, and front and rear touch panel for better handling of more complex games like Call of Duty.
Now the AT&T 3G variant of the Sony PlayStation Vita will set you back $299 but if you have a smaller budget, a WiFi-only model can be had for just $249. More on this as it develops.
So much for a late holiday release then. Sigh.
