While both the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Samsung Galaxy S2 share almost identical hardware, the camera is very different. The 5-megapixel camera on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus boasts speed while the 8-megapixel camera on the Samsung Galaxy S2 offers more detail. So how do they stand up against each other? The folks over at FreeYourAndroid took a couple of comparison shots.

According to the test shots, the Samsung Galaxy S2 offers more detail and is sharper. However the Samsung Galaxy Nexus isn't entirely beat as its colors were more precise, with FYA finding the Samsung Galaxy S2 colors more faded.

Moving on to the front camera, the Samsung Galaxy S2 comes out on top, offering better color, clarity and brightness.

Check out the sample shots here. On a side note, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is expected to launch sometime early December, while the Samsung Galaxy S2 has been confirmed to get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update eventually.
