As the rumored iPhone 5 release date approaches, Apple appears to be gearing up for its launch by making a couple of changes ahead of the next-generation phone's release.
25GB free iCloud storage coming for existing iCloud accounts and MobileMe users
In addition to training AT&T customers, BGR reports that Apple will soon be offering free 25GB iCloud storage to MobileMe customers for a year, as long as their iCloud account is active. AS BGR puts it, the plans will normally be like this:
"Every iCloud user will receive 5GB free from the get-go and and an additional 10GB will cost $20 per year. An extra 20GB will cost $40 per year and 50GB of added storage will set you back $100 annually."
Do you need a 64GB iPhone 5?
Given that rumors of 64GB iPhone 5 is in the works keep popping up, we're wondering how much space Apple thinks users will need. If rumors of an 8-megapixel camera and 1080p video recording capabilities are true, we can see why Apple is doing its best to offer enough storage. If you're like me, you use your iPhone video and camera more than a pocket camera and also store all that media inside for convenient viewing. With a better camera, you will be itching to take more photos and video as well.
In addition to media, if the iPhone 5 does come with dual-core processors, expect apps such as games and photo editing software to be more intensive and heavier (larger in size).
