In a statement made earlier to ComputerWorld, Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney has gone ahead and confirmed that a fix is being developed that will adjust the signal indicator on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus to comfort users.
Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus signal indicator to be adjusted soon
Now what is interesting about this is that there apparently is nothing wrong with the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus's antenna and that it is just the signal indicator in the top corner that is making it appear weaker than it really is. So the fix basically just adjusts the display to comfort users.
While we can't be certain whether the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is truly free of signal issues, the folks over at AnandTech recently did a comparison test and found that the signal strength on the Galaxy Nexus is no weaker than on other Android devices.
Raney reiterated that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has no performance issues and the update will ”adjust the signal strength indicator to more closely
match other Verizon Wireless devices.” Not date has been given yet as to when the fix will be ready. We'll keep you posted as more develops.
